Father's Day

For Father's Day this year the kids and I put a few things together for their daddy...probably his favorite gift to date. I purchased a personalized photo tie from personalizationmall.com, nothing new here, he has received a few of these in the past few years. This time having all three kids on it, he loved it. We also put together a Star Wars themed basket together, the kids have been in a Star Wars lego themed phase for a while now, so they were all about it!! Nothing like some Hans Rolos, or Vaderade, or even a Jar Jar of Gungan snacks (hope I spelled that right, clearly not quite as big of fan). And last but not least I ordered a personalized photo book from papercorterie.com. I'm sure you have seen those photo books, they have been around for awhile now, but this one was different. This one let me personalize the pages with quotes and questions and then leave room for the kids to answer and even illustrate things that describe their dad. I ordered, they shipped, and before you know it, the kids were coloring and filling in all of the empty spaces with words that describe their dad! They had fun doing it, and he absolutely loved it!! I have to be honest, I was a little shocked! Here are a few pics that we used in the book!

This one we used for his tie, he loved the pop of color from Kealys' flower!

Sprinkle Wedding Cake

My little sister Schuyler recently got married, you probably already knew that if you read the previous post.....anyhew.....she wasn't specific in what kind of cake she wanted, honestly, she really didn't care.  We saw a similiar rendition of this cake on Pinterest, I said, "this is fun, you should do this for the wedding", she replied, "ok!" It was settled, and this was the outcome.....

Schuyler got married!!

Like I said in the last post, I'm starting to feel old!!  I will warn you now, if you know my family, you may feel slightly older at the end of this post........I will give you a minute.........Ready????  Here it is.......my little sister Schuyler....got married!!!!  I know it's not a big deal, but the last time I checked she was 12, she wasn't in college, wasn't living on her own, and surely not old enough to get married.  It's crazy how time fliiiiiiieeeees!!!

Wedding pic.......gorgeous!!!

His name is Bryan and they are great for eachother.  I have to be honest, when I first met him I was screaming, dorkie!!!!!!!!(in my head of course, I wasn't going to say that out loud)  But as time has gone by and we have hung out numerous times and we have really gotten to know him, I can say yes, he may be slightly dorky, but he's funny, kind, and goes together with my sister so well.  And, on top of that, fits into the family seamlessly!!
Here are a few more pics from the wedding......

 Our side of the family
BTW...we did the cake for the wedding and I think it is my favorite we have ever done.  It's nothing crazy, the total opposite, simple, yet totally fun.  For that reason, it's going to get it's very own post...stay tuned!!

Kindergarten Graduation

I am getting to the point where something happens, like I look at some old pics, one of my kids asks "how old are you", or most recently my first born graduates from Kindergarten, when I realize I am getting old!!  I have never made a big deal about age, and I still don't think turning 30 is a big deal, I just don't feel it.  Maybe it's not supposed to feel like anything! Well I am pretty sure the day you hit 30, you don't feel dramatically different and if you do, it's all in your head! Anyway, the point of this post is to celebrate the fact that Aiden finished his first year of school, and did so well. (ugh, I will soon have a first grader)  When we first started off the year I was very hesitant and nervous.  Aiden didn't go to preschool or day care or tend to leave my sight for more than a few hours (once in a blue moon), so the thought of dropping him off at school Monday through Friday for 6 hours a day to spend the day by himself, frightened me just slightly. (he was one of the few, if not the only, that didn't attend any type of school prior to Kindergarten in his class)  Well, the fear quickly disappeared more and more each day when he came home sharing the things he learned and excited to return to school the next day. It also helped that his teacher reassured me often how great he was doing and she was surprised that he had no prior schooling.  I have to admit, it makes a mama proud!!! Here is a picture on the day he graduated with his teacher Mrs. Penoyer....btw.. Loved her, couldn't of asked for a better teacher, we will truly miss her!!!
Getting his graduation certificate.

Moving on to the 1st grade, that's my boy!

Imagination Avenue

Mariahs birthday party was held at a cute little place called Imagination Avenue. You can visit there during the week, or you can reserve a time on the weekend for a party, and have the whole place to yourself. A really fun place for the kids, the boys had a great time.

Check out the new hair-do!!!! He looks sooooo different!

Mickey Mouse Club Play House

This year for Mariahs 2nd Birthday the theme was Mickey Mouse Club Play House. Her mom and dad knew what they wanted for the cake and had all the figurines and cake topper. The cake was a 1/2 sheet white cake with fresh strawberry filling. The icing was whip cream embellished with pieces of fondant.

Goofy and his vegetable garden.

Minnie Mouse and her table and chairs.
Pluto with his dish and dog bone.

Easter Suits

Last year for Easter my Grandma sent matching suits for the boys to wear on Easter Sunday. They were both really big so we put them away for this year. With general conference falling on Easter Sunday, we pulled the suits out a week early and let the kids wear the jackets to church the Sunday before.
(they actually come with matching pants, but I prefer the khaki pants instead)

If you couldn't tell, Aiden was being the biggest HAM. Oh, btw, totally cut Elams hair a few days after these pictures were taken, and am still regretting it.... 3 weeks later!! UGH!!!!

Happy Birthday Sky-Rache!

During Spring Break my little sister Schuyler, who is in Colorado on a volleyball scholarship, came in town for the week. We had the chance to hang out a few times, and were able to celebrate her 19th birthday as a family. As you can imagine, we had cake for dessert. It was a chocolate fudge cake with Pirouette cookies for decoration.

Vacation cont....

While on vacation, we drove a little further north and got to take the kids to see the snow. (It actually snowed quite hard on our way home as we drove through Jerome, the kids really liked that) They had a few snow ball fights and ran around for a while with their dad. I don't think Will was ready!! Aiden has a pretty good arm, I see a lot of baseball in the future! Elam just trying to figure out what's going on.
Boys being Boys!! Mommas boys!

Vacation

Last month we had a stay in Sedona we needed to use so Willbert took a week off and we went up north for five days. Now that the kids are getting older, especially Aiden, we are really enjoying taking the kids to different sites and parks. We took the kids to Out of Africa, a little pricey, but we really had a good time. It was so different than the Phoenix zoo, the animals were actually awake and walking around!! We took a safari which took us inside the gates with some animals and we were able to feed giraffes and camels right from the inside the bus.

Elam wasn't too fond of them getting THAT close!!

And neither was Aiden!

The kids watching Tiger Splash

Towards the end of our day there, they give you the chance to follow them around as they feed all of the bigger animals. Here are a few pics of a couple of their tigers.
